China tour post 1

Back home after the tour to China, to everyone who asks how was my holiday was..

It wasn’t a holiday ._. ~ It was a TOUR.

Being my first time going on a tour, I now know it is quite different from a holiday. Getting woken up early ~ 6.30am! Getting ready, packing to move to the next location, eating breakfast, checking out, getting on the tour bus and letting it take you to many many different places, checking into a new hotel at 9/10 ish – wash and repeat ~!

but enjoyable.. but so tiring. I need a holiday from my holiday.

I can now add these places to my Travels list – Brunei, Shanghai, Suzhou, Wuxi, Nanjing, Huangzhou and say I have been to Shanghai World Expo 2010 ^^v

My 140 character (twitter) summary –

“busy tiring good photos rude ppl fatty food swish hotels long bus trips lack sleep n free time air polluted swindlers made in china”

But its probably best shown with photos! In somewhat chronological order from days 1-2

Brunei - Mosque where the Sultan comes and prays on Fridays, domes are 24k gold leaf !

Arrived in Brunei at 5am, its humid and hot. Apparently they only have 2 seasons – hot or wet. I think it was both at this time. Went on a short tour until the flight to Shanghai. Saw a lot of mosques, actually 3 maybe 4 in about 3.5 hours..

FACT – Brunei is predominantly a Muslim country , they have to pray 5 times a day. Particularly on Friday, because they will send police out and make you or fine you if you don’t.

FACT – the Sultan of Brunei he used to have 3 wives, he only has one now which he’s not allowed to divorce XD He can only marry other wives if the first one agrees.  The first one is always arranged. Conclusion – It pays to be extra nice to your first wife even if you don’t like her.
